Michelle Ryan also played Dr. Jekyll's assistant in the Jekyll series, which is where most of Britain knows her from. Dr. Who and Torchwood possess entirely different sensibilities. You can like one without liking the other. They are also aimed at different audiences. Torchwood is filled with adolescent sexual fantasies that are meant to placate the needs of the desperate geek, while Dr. Who tends to be much more subtle in that department.

I can't say enough good stuff about Mr. Lear. His work in the 70s makes most everyone involved in television today seem apathetic and gutless. I think Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman might be my favorite. That show was downright chilling at times, which is a neat trick for a comedy.

I just finished the first season of Prison Break on DVD, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've often heard it compared to Lost, but I enjoyed it much more than that bit of Gilligan's Island on steroids. I suppose the basis for the comparison is that there are many little mysteries swirling around the many characters, and in that regard the comparison makes sense. But Prison Break is a much more focused show. There's less of a sense that you are getting jerked around by people making it up as they go along. Of course, I've only seen the first season so far. I'll have to keep viewing and hope they don't let things spin out of control.

Glad to hear True Blood is on DVD now -I'll give it a try now too. It has gotten so much acclaim and I too, pretty much love every series on HBO.

I'll be giving True Blood a whirl now that it's out on DVD. I can only think of two HBO series that I haven't enjoyed: Entourage and Sex and the City. Everything else has been top notch, so hopefully this show will not suck. Get it? A vampire show? Not suck? Ho ho ho.

I would love to see the demographics on who actually buys the Hope & Faith DVD.
