“Saturday Night Live,” which premiered Oct. 11, 1975, is broadcast live from NBC’s famed Studio 8H in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. “SNL” features sketches as well as the new show’s new addition, SNL Digital Shorts (you might remember Justin Timberlake's “D*** In A Box").
The lineup of “SNL” guest hosts last season featured some of the biggest stars of film, television and music including: Dane Cook, Jaime Pressly, John C. Reilly, Hugh Laurie, Alec Baldwin, Ludacris, Matthew Fox, Annette Bening, Justin Timberlake, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jeremy Piven, Drew Barrymore, Forest Whitaker, Rainn Wilson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peyton Manning, Shia LeBeouf, Scarlett Johansson, Molly Shannon and Zach Braff.
The show continues its tradition of featuring both blockbuster and breakout musical acts, hosting such performers as The Killers, Corrine Bailey Rae, My Chemical Romance, Beck, Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Tenacious D, Gwen Stefani, Akon, Timberlake, The Shins, AFI, Lily Allen, Keith Urban, Arcade Fire, Snow Patrol, Carrie Underwood, Avril Lavigne, Bjork, Linkin Park and Maroon 5.
