This unprepossessing Chinatown restaurant introduced New Yorkers to the delights of Shanghai cooking, and right away, its soup-filled dumplings became a passion. The dumplings are the most famous items on the menu, but Joe's has plenty of other tasty dishes to choose from, including the razor clams with black bean sauce, pork meatballs with cabbage and the hot sauteed pork with chilis.
